Committee Meeting

We held the Committee Meeting on Monday evening and it was decided that nominations for offices would be held in November with elections in December just in time for re-chartering packets to be turned in to the scout office. If you are interested in making this Pack be the best it can please contact your Den leader for suggestions of where you can help.

We also agreed to have the Service Project on Oct 18th at 10am. The boys will be cleaning chairs in the Crawford Room. Afterwards, we will have a carved pumpkin contest, awards and then split the boys into groups of four with an adult and they will have a scavenger hunt in the library. This is a great opportunity to get a Library card too!

Don't forget popcorn orders are due October 13th! See you at the Library!!!

Wheel of Popcorn!!

Some things just can't be described with words. If you were at the September Pack meeting -- you know what we mean! Another BIG thanks to all the boys (and their families) who turned in a full page of popcorn! Based on our preliminary tally, we are very close to our pack goal! Yaaaa!!!!

Remember that copies of filled up pages can also be turned in at the Scout Shop for weekly drawings. We still have a couple of weeks to sell popcorn, so there's still time to get your personal goal accomplished. Remember that Popcorn selling does more than just provide funding for our Pack, it's a way for the boys to gain some important life experience and a way for them to set and achieve their goals.

Parents - don't forget about the committee meeting coming up (see schedule to the right). We really want to have one parent from each Den in addition to the Den Leaders at the committee meetings. Pack decisions are made at the committee meetings, so if you want to have input, you need to be there! There are a lot of things that parents can do to help with the Pack -- either on a one-time basis or as a recurring position -- writing more interesting Blog Posts than mine comes to mind!! :)

If you missed the Popcorn Kick-Off Pack meeting, give your Den Leader a call to get all the info you need.

Our goal is $15,000 for the Pack. It looks like we're well on our way there. We have reports that several boys have already met their goals! Remember, $250 in popcorn sales and your Pack dues are paid, $1,000 in popcorn sale and Day Camp is paid as well. That's in addition to the prizes from Trails End.

We will be at the west-side Wal-Mart on Sept 13th selling popcorn as mentioned in the newspaper and on the news. Contact Heather to sign-up.

Bring a copy of your filled-up page to the September 17th Pack Meeting. We'll have a prize wheel that can be spun for every filled up page! Also if you have orders prepaid via checks, bring them to the Pack Meeting and our Treasurer will deposit them now. In the past it there have been a few people who have changed bank accounts during the popcorn sales period and that has created a few headaches.

All parents are welcome to attend the committee meetings -- the next one is Sept 8th. This committee meeting will be planning for the pack meeting and recruitment day.
